Friar Laurence is to blame as well because if he would have went and told Romeo personally about the plan which was to put Juliet to sleep for 42 hours and when she woke up Romeo was to be there at her side. If Friar Laurence wasn 't lazy Romeo 's death could have been avoided. Next, Friar Laurence would have went into the Monument with Juliet waiting for Romeo instead of showing up after; Romeo would have not assumed that Juliet was dead and then proceed to kill himself.
