How Dose the President of the United States Get Elected? Have you ever wondered how a person gets elected to be president of the United States? First, you have to declare yourself as a for the presidency. Then, you have to battle it out in a campaign against other candidates in your party. Finally, the people vote for who they think will be the best president to support their country. So if you plan being the president you have to do the three steps on order to be president. There are rules of how To become a candidate in the presidential campaign. You have to be born in the U.S. have to be over 35 years of age, and you have to be a U.S resident for 14 years. You have the choice of being in a political party or not the two biggest parties are Democratic Party and The Republican Party (Kids USA). Those are the rules of being a candidate but if you brake the rule you will not be the president. At the campaign you have to win the people over by convicting them that you’re a good leader. In their campaigns candidates make TV commercials and display billboards showing how they would be a good leader. Also candidates make speeches and do interviews about how they would be a great president. All the different political parties have different ideas about how the county should be run.
