Essay: Why Minors Should Be Tried As Adults

In this society, it is known that if one commits, there are consequences we have to pay. Adults are known to commit crimes like burglary and murder. For our society, it is normal to see in the news that an adult commits murder and as adults they know that there are consequences. However, when a minor commits a murder, the whole country, and maybe the whole world, turns the minor that committed the crime. Who would believe that a innocent looking minor would commit such a crime? Minors are known to society as innocent and inexperienced to the adult world. They can be young and inexperience but of course they are human beings and they can make many types of actions. There are many minors that commit crimes from as young as 11 to as old as 17 and not minor crimes like a traffic ticket but brutal crimes like murder. However, they are human beings they should expect a consequences for their actions. Juveniles should be charged as adult because most of the time they know and should know what is right or wrong, rehabilitation doesn’t works for them, and for the great loss the victims’ families feel.

But of course, juveniles should be tried as adults as a punishment for their crimes especially murder. Many juveniles who are tried under the juvenile system do not rehabilitated completely to reenter society. Many juveniles should know the difference between right and wrong and should think of the consequences of their actions. Also the pain of loss the victims’ families knowing that they will not see their loved ones. Juveniles should be tried as adults to help them understand the reality of life and to give justice to the victims’
