WW5 - Essential Life Metaphor Currently, my life is a carousel ride at an amusement park. It has its ups and downs throughout the week, but, for the most part, repeats itself on a weekly basis. My life continually goes round until my carousel of life breaks down, or overstresses, and needs to be fixed. However, despite being one of the most repetitive, and sometimes boring rides compared to other rides, it brings enjoyment to others. Depicting my life as a carousel does seem depressing, but it also show that despite the repetitive ups and downs each week, my carousel of life is unique and is based on how much fun and excitement I put into it. While carousel horses continually move up and down in their set areas, my life also has its really good moments and its really bad moments. When I ride a carousel, I want to be the horse that is above everyone else because you feel on top of the world, much like how when I feel unstoppable when there is a myriad of great things happening in my life. When I am at the lowest point of the horse’s set range I feel a little sad because everyone else is living it up above me, but know that I will have my turn to live in the high parts of the ride. I know that I will have low moments in my life where I wish I were like someone else, but I will eventually be able to come out on top. At the same time, carousels are pretty much the same ride every time and the ride continually goes in a circle. I feel that this is a commonplace with my life, because at times it feels like I am continually doing the same thing every week because of how much I am involved in or need to do. This can be boring at times because my life generally has the same things happening each week. After going through a few cycles the carousel stops and resets for the next rider to enjoy. My life sometimes has those breaks, such as spring or winter break, where I am able to stop the normal routine of my life and, reset, and then have a new routine when I get back from
