The event that I will be talking about that created an ethical dilemma in the sport is how the WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association) player Brittney Griner who currently plays forthe Phoenix Mercury. The reason why I choose to do this as my assignment because this event that created ethical dilemma in the WNBA that I am going to be writing about just seems very interesting to me and I want to be able to express my thoughts and opinions about this event. During the off-season, basketball star Brittney Griner traveled to Russia to play for her old team which was the UMMC Ekaterinburg. The responses from the governing body were that they thought that it was unfortunate and unexpected for Brittney Grinner to carry drugs inside her luggage. From my opinion I believe that it was more unexpected than unfortunate because of how much of a great reputation that she had being a WNBA player and how she just messed it up for herself due to the salaries she would receive from the league. Another response from the governing body was that she was falsely setup, meaning that she didn’t originally have the drugs before she got off the flight. I would disagree from this because considering how the WNBA pays her and that she must go oversees to make extra money and from that it links up to on why she would carry drugs inside ethat is affiliated with Brittney Grinner could have prevented this situation vhow th NBA pays off their players is becauseuthe players to go down such a c it would not lead Brittney Griner or eeprobably felt like that she was almost playing basketball for no reason.
