Expansion may include overtaking of rural land and building on property that is deemed Indigenous land. This raises an ethical dilemma the city of Austin faces about the importance of the preservation of historical structures in the city. A feasible course of action that could be taken to counteract this problem is the passing of Austin legislation that would allow policymakers to protect sacred lands and historical properties against new development. Lastly, the expansion of AI technology into Austin raises concerns and problems regarding Austin’s local businesses. New businesses create competitiveness in the job market as more locals are seeking jobs and new residents are moving to the city for job opportunities.
