Right at this moment, thousands of Canadians are waiting for the phone call informing them of their chance at a new, working organ. They are waiting for a chance to live beyond the week, months, or even years after receiving a transplant. However, these kinds of situations and the lives they have affected are causing primary ethical dilemmas which arise from the shortage of available organs. Currently, the need for organs from patients far outweighs the available supply, creating the primary ethical dilemma in transplant healthcare.
