The Martian and Frankenstein are two completely fictional creations, created in completely different societies during different eras to teach lessons on the limitations of the human application of science and the two different sides to ethics. Mark Shelley’s novel, Frankenstein, incorporates recent technological developments during her time period with a fictional story in order to caution readers of the potential ethical limitations in a rapidly advancing scientific world.
