Behavior Ethnics is the study of why people make the ethical and unethical decisions that they do. It states that most ethical choices are made intuitively, by feeling, not after carefully analyzing a situation, and usually people who make unethical decisions are unconsciously influenced by internal biases. Sometimes I might violate the Behavior Ethnics, which mainly because my unintended neglect towards my ethnical standard. During the rush hour, the public transportation usually packed with people who are waiting for the train coming and getting on. People usually line up and wait for the trains, while some of people might not obey and yield the people in front of them. When I was in the library preparing for my exam, the others are also focusing and studying diligently. At some point, I might get distracted by using the phone or laptop on browsing the internet. However, I realize the others are still focusing on their work, which influences me to keep on studying instead of using my phone or computer. By definition, the conformity bias is the tendency people have to behave like those around them rather than using their own personal judgment. People seem to be more comfortable mimicking others, even regarding ethical matters. Indeed, the conformity bias can cause people to simply follow the herd rather than use their own independent ethical judgment. When I was being around in the library, people around me was focusing on their work. If I was using my phone or computer to browse the internet, I would be the only one act or work differently inside the library. By applying the conformity bias, I keep on working is mainly because I might feel more comfortable mimicking others and behave like those around without using my personal judgment. Therefore, I might conform and mimicking the others on working diligently and focusing towards my work.
