Explain. a) How do the three theories (Virtue, Deontological, and Utilitarian) differ? First of all it should be mentioned, that Virtue, Deontological, and Utilitarian theories are the tools to justify people, groups or institutions’ behavior. What is wrong and what is right is identified regarding the personal point of view. Due to that, the same situation, action or result can be assessed, particularly based on the moral and ethical background. Even the best plan requires the adjustments considering the enemy’s actions in the battle. Therefore, the leader must make timely decisions in order to adopt the approved concept to the fast changing situation. The usage of the Utilitarian ethic theory will help for the commander to decide the scope of the sacrifice needed with regard to the assigned mission. Additionally, this theory will gain the confidence of the commander that his orders are in line with the ethical norms supported by society. 4.
