There are many themes throughout The Most Dangerous Game. The theme I was felt was most ethical for this story was “Overconfidence can kill you”. Overconfidence plays a big role in people. In the story, General Zaroff was way too overconfident about his hunting skills. Zaroff lived on his own private island in his château along with many prisoners that he serves. He mentions that he has hunted many animals and wants to hunt more than just an animal. He insists that he wants to hunt a more intelligent animal, that is when Rainsford gets his point.
