Ethics Of Hunting For Meat

207 Words1 Pages
Hunting for meat is something that has been done since man was first created by God. The biggest problem that philosophers face when dealing with hunting being virtuous is the compassion involved within the kill of the animal. If the animals is shot or stabbed in a way that ensures a short quick death for the animal some would say this is a form of compassion that builds on the moral character of an individual. When you think about this method in perspective though, slaughterhouses and factory farmed animals are treated much more severely than hunted animals which then builds on the claim that hunting with compassion for a quick death is virtuous and ethical. A second example of hunting being morally permissible is when you play the game fair.
