The Hakkas are a unique ethnic group of "Han" Chinese people who from around Henan and Shanxi in northern China over 2,700 years ago. Originally, the Hakka were North Chinese, but they migrated to South China (especially in Guangdong, Fujian, Jiangxi, and Guangxi provinces) during the fall of the Nan (Southern) Song dynasty in the 1270s. They are thought to be one of the earliest "Han" settlers in China. One theory has it that many of the early Hakkas were affiliated with the "royal bloods".

Hakka is one of the oldest Chinese Dialects in China. The Hakka people mainly at Guangdong, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hong Kong, Sichuan, and Taiwan. Through the majority of the Hakka live in Guangdong, so they usually bilingual with Cantonese. However, the Hakka in Fujian and …show more content…

The Dragon Boat Festival, also often known as the Tuen Ng or Duanwu Festival, is a traditional holiday native in China.The festival falls on the 5th day of the 5th month of the traditional lunar calendar, also called as the DoubleFifth Festival. During the festival, the Chinese usually will eat dumplings “粽子” and organized the dragon boat competition. The Chinese celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival on the 15th day of the eight month in the Chinese Han calendar. During that day, the Chinese will eat mooncake together with tea to celebrate the festival. The Dongzhi Festival or called as Winter Solstice Festival also one of the most important festivals celebrated by the Chinese. During the Winter Solstice Festival, it’s a time for the family to get together and they will making and eating of tangyuan together which symbolize Reunion. (
