States that has established and known geographical territories and have sovereignty over those geographical territories. The relationship between people and nations under this international ordered can be inferred from various indictors. One indicator is the political relationships between stats. For example, the intense political relationship between India and Pakistan could be an indicator of the relationships between the people in India and the people in Pakistan because we assume that the political leadership is representative of the people who live in those two countries. However, even if the political leadership is representative of the people, it is difficult to generate a bigger picture that can capture the dynamics of each nation towered the other. For example, the armed and violent relationship between North Korea and South Korea over the past few decades do not say anything about how people in South Korea feel about people of North Korea. In addition, another indicator would be following the rhetoric produced by the media about country A in country B.
