The first ad uses ethos to sell their product. They pursude people by using J Lo as the star of the commercial. By using J lo they think that people will buy their product, just because they use J Lo. The second ad uses pathos to get people to buy their product. They try to make you feel sad and nostalgic from having your child all grown up and ready to drive.
Now it's time to describe the Mr.Clean commercial which starts out with a woman trying to clean some stuff in her kitchen. Then Mr.Clean shows up to help her clean everything in a funny way that woman seems to love Mr.Clean and how he cleans. So both of these commercials used humor but stilled showed the product and what it's meant for.
This theme is a great example of how pathos was incorporated into the advertisement. Pathos was first seen when the advertisement opened to a group of puppies. Animals are an easy way to get the attention of the audience because who wouldn’t want to watch an advertisement about a puppy? Pathos continued as the puppy ran off, meeting a horse and becoming instant best friends, toying with the emotions of the audience. It only escalated with the pony and the puppy couldn’t be together, because the owners kept bringing them home.

I discussed the author by giving a breakdown on the company and providing statements of how long they've been around and how they have continuously been one of the most popular laundry detergent brands. When talking about the audience I provided some insight in who the primary audience is and how tide switched up from making generally feminine aimed ads. Finally within the text I broke down the main components of Ethos and Pathos in the paper and how it strengthened the ad. Add that to a friendship with a beautiful Clydesdale horse and that is sure to get the viewers’ hearts warmed.
