Rhetorical Analysis In “What Is a Rhetorical Analysis?” rhetoric is defined as the use of “text” in order to properly persuade one’s audience. That is to say, the context of what is being said has no effect unless the audience is captivated by how the information is relayed. The use of Logos, Pathos, and Ethos varies in “Breaking News: Some Bullshit Happening Somewhere,” “Claudette Colvin and Rosa Parks,” and “John Adams vs. Thomas Jefferson,” nor is every component present. The video is intended to ridicule most of what is shown in Television News today. With that, the most used rhetoric is Pathos due to the fact that the comical context is using emotional persuasion to grasps the audience attention. The video was not intended to argue any point or persuade the audience to support any idea. In sum, after analyzing all three videos, the video that best presents the use of rhetoric the best would be “John Adams vs. Thomas Jefferson.” It provided the best examples of logos, pathos, and ethos even if there is no argument presented to actually persuade the audience to “support” a specific idea, the video does use rhetoric to grasp the intended audience. Both the language and ideas could be inappropriate, and ineffective if presented to a different audience, however, in this case they add to the effect the audience is supposed to have.
