The realization that millions of advertisements are throw out into the public without anyone stopping and realizing just how much of an impact they make is something that is difficult to comprehend. How many times have you been driving and realized a billboard but did not read it or comprehend that it might be impacting your views and thoughts on particular topics or events that are taking place. This is what is being examined during this project we will be looking into a specific advertisement and how it’s different components draw people in and therefore its effectiveness can be examined. This is being done in this example by using ethos, logos, pathos and Kairos. This was achieved by using specific colors, fonts and pictures to make those seeing the advertisement want the product or go to a specific event or feel a specific way. This specific advertisement is using ethos by mentioning reputable companies, which in this case are the businesses funding the advertisement, Casino Arizona that is mentioned towards the bottom right hand corner. The Casino is the company that is hosting the event and where the event will be located it is a spot that locals know of and that can be easily looked up online and therefore making those buying tickets feel more secure about going to an event that is not a scam. Advertisement producers and marketing teams add companies that are easily recognized and can be looked up online with no troubles which enhances their creditability. The advertisement shows bright colors and bold lettering with some sort of imaging in them which entices an audience as well as a gloved hand that is sparkling much like Michael Jackson would have worn before he passed. Michael Jackson is an iconic figure beginning in the 70’s which is why an image like a gloved hand would catch someone’s eye while driving.
