Ethos,Logos,Pathos of Chevy
Aristotle’s terms of persuasion can help to validate whether or not an ad will be successful. In this case the ad is for a Chevrolet 1500 Silverado Truck (2015 Chevrolet Silverado 14 Oct.2015). The terms of persuasion that help to evaluate this ad are Ethos, Logos and pathos. The use of rhetoric in the ad can play a major role in the ads success. As well as identifying the colors in the ad and there meaning, it can help to understand the persuasion used in the ad. By evaluating these terms of persuasion and by doing a theoretical analysis one can find and view the success of the Chevy truck ad.

The Logos of ad is its logic, what makes the ad logical to the viewer. Logic is also applied to an ad by providing the viewer true information or straight fact about the product. In this case the Chevy truck ad uses a small bit of logos in the ad. The first part of logos in this ad is the truck itself. It is logic that one would see a truck such as this pulling a trailer like it is show. It also doesn’t seem to be illogical to find a truck like this driving off road like seen in the picture. By Chevy showing this in the ad it makes it paper logical to the viewer. However they also include some facts in their ad to make it logical. In the left side of the ad towards the bottom its says “2015 Chevy Silverado/ from the family of the most dependable longest-lasting full-size pickups on the Road. Next to where it says this there are two small stars next to it. Pathos is defined as being the emotional appeal that an ad has. Pathos can apply to the Chevy Silverado truck ad in a couple of different ways. The first is that the ad gives one a sense of hard work or hardworking. The ad achieves this because it shows a truck which is view as work vehicles pulling a large trailer. Also the background in the back of the ad is much roughed which also to give the truck and ad a sense of roughness. The ad also in includes the words find new roads. This adds emotional appeal to the add because it adds a sense of adventure to the ad by saying find new road or a new way. This would appeal to the person that is adventures and wanted to have an adventures
