Family Background
Nancy (Grandmother)
She is non-Hispanic white female age 64 years old. She is a Christian (Baptist) from Alabama. Nancy has three siblings, Diane, Pam, and Buster. She grew up in Georgia with her mom mostly raising all the children by herself. Later, Nancy married a man name Gene Copeland which lasted 7 years. During that marriage, they had 3 children, Michael, Michelle, and James. After a few years of being single, Nancy fell in love with a man named Charles. They got married after dating for a long period. Charles helped Nancy raise the kids and although they had problems here and there they still had an undeniable love for each other. In 2008, Charles lost his life to diabetes and Nancy became a widow. To this day, she says that he was her soul mate and she could never find a love like she did with him.

Michelle is from Georgia and she has 2 brothers named Michael and James and they were raised by their mainly their mother, Nancy. Her biological father didn’t do much for them as a child so she sees Charles as her father. Michelle met a man named, James Scott and they had my older brother, Brandon and then me. They got married when I was 2 years and were together for another 2 years before James passed away. A few years later my mother met my step dad, Eric Miller, who I call dad as he raised me most of my life. They had a child together named Andrew when I was 4. Michelle and her nuclear family moved to Tennessee in 2011.

I was raised by my mother because my “sperm donor” was not in my life. Up till the age 13 or 14 it was a traumatic experience but after the problem got solved it became better and my mother did the best she could to raise all of us on her own.
