My flag consists of a green and yellow background with a Eureka flag in the middle surrounded by a circle. I have chosen the green and yellow because it represents many aspects of Australian culture. Firstly, green and gold represents the tradition colours of Australian national sporting teams. Many national sporting teams still wear the green and gold such as the ‘Socceroos’ (Men’s national soccer team), the ‘Kangaroos’ (Men’s national rugby league team) and the ‘Diamonds’ (Women’s national netball team). Green and gold are together embodied on the Coat of Arms which is the official symbol of the Australian government. Green and gold can also represent the Australian landscape.
