This summary is over Eurydice made by Sarah Ruhl and cut by Rachael Koske. It is story of love and the dark side of it.The characters are Eurydice, Father, Orpheus, All the Stones, Child and The Man. The settings are in the 1950s and in the Underworld and Beach. The first scene is Orpheus and Eurydice in swimsuit on the beach flirting with each other. They are on the topic of reading book or making your own thoughts and Orpheus made a song for Eurydice. But then he says he needs 12 instruments to perform the song for her then he says he could use each strand of her hair as an instrument as a joke. Then Eurydice shows up in the underworld and is greeted by the stones and her Father. The only problem with her father speaking to her is that in the underworld they have speaking laws like not saying love, music and father. The Father tries to explain to her that she is dead and how it is has changed from being live and being dead Orpheus tries to write to Eurydice but crimped his paper in scene 2. Then in scene 4, Eurydice’s Father makes her a string room to reminder her of the old days in the living world. He also told a another one in scene 13 saying how he could play piano and tried to play in a concert and ran away. Then he starts to sing the first four chords in which Eurydice joins in but the stones get them to stop because dead people can’t sing. In scene 14, Eurydice meets the Lord of the underworld which is has a weird appearance as he look like a child and riding a red tricycle. Then the child sees that she has learned about Father and other living words in which means she shall be dunked in the river where she will forget everything.
