In the one act play Eurydice there are eight characters mentioned and talked about in the play. To start with there is the main character of the whole play Eurydice. Eurydice is a women in the 1950s who gets married to a man named Orpheus. Gets tricked almost raped and indirectly killed by a man referred to as man. When Eurydice first makes it to the underworld after dying she meets three stones big stone, loud stone and little stone. They serve as narrators of the underworld although they are three different characters they serve the same general purpose. Although he never directly meets the man he is greatly impacted by him, due to the fact that the man killed Eurydice his wife. Orpheus also never meet Eurydice's father, but he also had a big impact on him because Eurydice left Orpheus for her father. Orpheus never meet the three rocks due to the fact he never made it that deep into the underworld. He did get to meet the lord of the underworld when he opened the gates of the underworld for Orpheus and warned him not to look at Eurydice. The man is an odd character he changes the pace of the play with his actions and was only in the play for a short amount of time. The man is related to Eurydice because he took her up to his apartment and indirectly killed her. The man never meet Orpheus but had an impact on him by tricking and killing his wife which ended up leading to his death in the big picture. The man never meet Eurydice's father but you have to think he can't hate him that much even though he killed his daughter because Eurydice's father got to see Eurydice again. The stones were trying to slow down Eurydice's fathers thinking, they always tried to discourage him and stop him from thinking. The three stones are all related and always together and most of the time speak in unsin. Although the Lord of the underworld and the stones never really have an open conversation in the play you can see that they are related in ways. Almost as if the stones are minions of the lord of the underworld by spreading the lord's ideas and propaganda. The lord of the underworld is an odd character he claims to be the lord but is very short and rides a tricycle. He claims to grow like a turnip and says he can do chin ups inside of you on your bones. The lord of the underworld is very cruel to Eurydice the time they talk saying he will blow her room down. Then continues to say she will need another dunk in the river, he finished that up by riding away laughing. The lord meets Orpheus once and is pretty straight up with him and gives him a fair warning on how not to look at
