Everglades National Park is one of the largest and most-well known national parks in the United States. This national park is special in that it was not preserved for its wonders, but because of the conservation and protection of its fragile ecosystem. Everglades National Park currently covers 1,509,000 acres of land (stretching through Dade, Collier and Monroe county), making it the third largest national park in the contiguous 48 states smaller than Death Valley National Park and Yellowstone National Park. The Everglades is located on the southern section of the Florida Peninsula.
The story “Into Thin Air”, by Jon Krakauer, first starts with Jon Krakauer being 29,028 feet up in the atmosphere in the middle of his adventure as he and a few other groups from around the world strive to get to the top of the summit of Mt. Everest. The. While up into the atmosphere, Jon was having a hard time and suffering from the lack of sleep and food, along with a gruesome cough he had had for weeks, which also caused him to break two of his ribs. Brief Description Florida Everglades The Florida Everglades is a 1.5million acre national park. It is a wetland located on the tip of Florida. The Everglades is made up of coastal mangroves, sawgrass marshes and pine flatwoods that are home to hundreds of animal species. Everglades, Florida, gets 1,447mm of rain per year.

As the wind began to intensify out of the west and sweep across the frozen wasteland of Lake Erie, it carried with it the lightly packed snow that had blanketed the frozen lake. An event of historical proportions was beginning to unfold in rapid time right in front of people’s eyes. Accumulating more and more snow as the wind moved eastward, the wind was carrying so much snow that it created white out conditions in the city and surrounding area.

But thanks to construction, agbusinesses, and draining the Everglades we have destroyed this one beautiful piece of land. To lead off, a mass increase in construction around and in the Everglades lead to a total destruction of it. In “ The Florida Everglades ” it says “ The construction cuts off the flow of fresh water to the Everglades.”

According to various texts and discussions the term ‘primitive culture’ refers to a society believed to lack cultural, economical and technological sophistication. They were relatively isolated, relatively simple social institutions and had slow rate of sociocultural change. In these cultures history and beliefs were passed on through oral tradition. There are a lot of things that people might consider culturally primitive, for instance, cultures that lack written language might be considered less culturally sophisticated than the ones that have written language, hunters-gathers might be considered economically backward than capitalised societies.
