Anyone could kill Arlena. And it was really hard for Poirot and the police to investigate this case. Almost everyone hated Arlena in the hotel, even if they weren't saying this openly they had really strong negative feelings about her. It’s not hard to understand why Linda and Christine were wishing for her death. But not just they did. No one liked Arlina's personality.
