Personal Leadership Statement.
As a leader, I have a vision of strengthening the friendship of old classmates who were together for three years and plan on how we can reach to the development by putting our ideas and resources together for investment.
I like to lead the meeting for my senior six class, and l lead the meeting in my own way. When I am leading I first make sure that the group knows well what we are going to talk about through explaining the topic clearly. This means that I have to first let them know the agenda of the meeting. In addition, when I am leading I have to care a lot about the time of the meeting in order to manage the time well. When a person is speaking, I intend to listen to him or her carefully in order to learn something from him or her and answer any question that can rise. In case someone finished to talk, I paraphrase what he or she was talking about in few words in order to help those who were not listening carefully. When I am leading a meeting, I also make sure that both boys and girls are participating actively and given the equal opportunity of speaking. For example, the structural leaders are good in decision making, have analytical skills, and this is applying to me because when I decide to make a decision things have to be successful (Leebolman, n.d.). The structural leadership model is in line with my vision because it requires critical thinking and making decision which is related to my vision of putting the resources and ideas together in order to develop ourselves.
