Gross corruption is when somebody is willing to procure anything out of greed or selfishness to gain money and power. One of many examples from “The Crucible” is Abigail Williams, Reverend Parris’s niece, she wants to be with John Proctor, but she is willing to anything to get rid of his wife, Elizabeth Proctor. Out of envy, Abigail accused Elizabeth of witchcraft, knowing that Goody Proctor would be executed.
