Bible Allegories The novel The Magician's Nephew by C.S Lewis is an allegory to the Bible in many examples. It takes place in London in the 1900s it is about two kids Digory and Polly traveling through new worlds using their uncle’s magic. The Magician’s Nephew has many allegories about the bible, some examples of allegories are Strawberry the horse as salvation, the Witch as sin or temptation and Aslan the lion as God. Strawberry is the horse from the novel. He was a cabby’s horse; he had a miserable life in London until he was brought to a dark world with Digory, Polly and the rest of the group of characters. When Strawberry was brought to Aslan the Lion from the story changes Strawberry’s name to fledge”Be Winged be the father of all flying horses said Aslan in a voice that shook the ground "your name is fledge”(156) like Jesus changes Saul’s name to Paul and changes our identity. …show more content…

The Witch tempts Digory many times in the novel like when Digory retrieved the Apple of Youth the Witch tempts Digory to eat the Apple of Youth like the Serpent from the garden tempts Adam to eat the apple” Foolish boy said the witch why do you run from me I mean you no harm if you eat the apple for happiness, knowledge and never age ” (175). Another allegory of the Witch starts to get weaker in the bright world like our sins start to fade away when we confront them with Jesus or other
