Death is inevitable; the end of existence is a fixed event that will ensue all life. Nevertheless, life perseveres against the odds of the world. The struggle for survival is examined in Virginia Woolf’s The Death of the Moth and Annie Dillard’s Polyphemus Moth, both in which a moth - seemingly insignificant lifeforms - engages in a match with death. Although both moths face adversity and fight to live, the certainty of death is confirmed when the Woolf’s moth’s natural passing comes.
In the late 19th century, the United States industrialized. The Western frontier became more accessible as railroads connected the coastlines. The West became less of a place of myth and more of a place of accessibility to those who wanted new opportunities. However, the West was still wild, and a Gilded Age-era woman should not have had to face it alone. A truly western woman faced many contradictions.

10. Ms Maudy is a courageous character in the novel. She seems to get along well with everyone in town, especially the children. She is very respectful towards Jem and Scout. Second, Atticus keeps his mind open and is loyal to what is right.
The qualities of a hero may be being able to fly like Superman or shoot webs like spiderman but Atticus Finch has many heroic qualities of himself. Atticus is a hero because he never backs down from doing what's right, He defends and stands up for Tom Robinson, and finally he teaches his kids lesson that they will use for the rest of their life. My first reason that Atticus is a hero is that he never backs down from doing what's right. For example Atticus says "Come here...
Atticus is an unbiased in the way he gets his children to see different perspectives and accept others for what they are because he realized there is no major difference between them and himself. On page 39, Atticus is talking to Scout about Miss Caroline. He says, “You can never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view- until you climb into this skin and walk around in it.” This shows that Atticus never judges people until he can comprehend their views and this is important to the story because it explains why he fights for Scout’s dressing rights and agrees to the Tom Robinson case. Later in the story, on page 144 Atticus tells Scout “I do my best to love everybody...
In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird Atticus Finch, the main character, shows integrity multiple times throughout the book. Three times where Atticus displayed integrity are when Atticus declares that he has to do Tom Robinson's case because if he did not it would shame him, Atticus explains to Scout why it is important not to humiliate people when a neighbor pays his debt without money, and Finally, Atticus shows integrity when he tells Aunt Alexandra that he trusts Calpurnia. When Atticus was appointed Tom Robinson’s case Atticus accepted it with dignity, he knew if any other lawyer was handed the case that they would do nothing to try and have tom win. Atticus proves his integrity while speaking to his daughter, Scout, “The main (reason) is, if I didn’t
Many people would describe a hero to be someone with a cape on their back saving the world from its terrors, but let's face it that isn’t reality. A hero is a person of any race, upbringing, wealth income, age, and so forth that has a good heart and does deeds purely for the help of others rather than the show of it. An example of this would be Ponyboy Curtis, Johnny Cade, and Darry Curtis from the so called “hood” in a gang called the Greasers. Although they all have been through a lot and seen a lot in their years of living this has definitely shaped their minds and hearts on their actions. All in all, these young men have proven throughout the chapters one through six that they have these characteristics fit to be a hero.
Ken Kesey’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, published in 1962, tells the story of men in a psychiatric ward and focuses on two characters called McMurphy and Bromden, and their defiance towards the institution’s system. A critical factor in this novel are the women. The 1960’s played a significant role in changing the norms of social issues, and the perfect idea of women was changing too. Women were no longer just stay at home wives, but had their own voice in society, and many people did not agree with these untraditional views. Kesey’s representation of women in this novel illustrate them in a poor light that makes it obvious that they don’t fit the ideal womanly persona.
Gentry is very close with her three older brothers but particularly close with one of her brothers that she works with. She is also very close with her parents, but more so with me, her mother. Gentry has known some of her friends since kindergarten. She spends a fair amount of time with them because they are all on the tennis team together, however, Gentry has been preparing them fr about two years for her leave for foreign exchange.
The text of the book Cinder Edna was organized into simple sentences and short paragraphs. The organization was sufficient for what the book is telling by providing adequate detail in each paragraph. Descriptive language was used throughout the entire book which made having short paragraphs and simple sentences acceptable. One example of a literary tool being employed to make the story more vivid is, “Cinderella sat among the cinders and sighed.” This literary tool is alliteration and it helps support the story by allowing the reader to picture what Cinderella must have felt like in that moment.

The Adventure of Augie March is a book I can relate to on my levels. I enjoyed the way you portrayed your characters, Augie's search for his identity, gave visual images, but I was not keen of you putting Georgie into an institution and Rebecca in a nursing home. You portrayed your characters in ways that were very relatable to one's life. For instance, you made Augie a boy who was very soft hearted which often brought him trouble, stubborn due to the fact that he wanted to be his own person and not let people modify his decisions, and ambitious because no matter how numerous he failed he tried again; which I feel is comparable to a great deal of boys.
