Although African leaders do not have special powers, T'Challa is shown to be a wise, caring and strong king who is also human, emotional and subject to error and weakness just like any other person. He serves as a powerful role model as his humble character shows how one does not have to be tyrannical, forceful and uncompromising to be an effective leader. Maria is inspiring as she shows how motherhood in itself heroic because she is part of cultivating the courage and the confidence that Monica has. An example of this is shown after Vers says that she will help Skrulls them find their home, Monica sits on Maria's lap as they sit around the dinner table.
