Rhetorical Analysis: in Barbara Jordan’s “Statement on the Articles of Impeachment” In 1976, the first African American Congresswoman took the podium to address the political problems in the U.S. She used every form of document in the constitution to prove that things can change if they were followed accordingly. This courageous woman, Barbara Jordan, wrote “Statements on the Articles of Impeachment”, delivered July 25, 1974 to the House Judiciary Committee and argued that if the President was to participate in anything suspicious and kept the person safe, he may be impeached. Jordan builds her credibility with the evidence of Richard Nixon’s activity with several things beyond out of order; during her speech she was forcefully optimistic
They find valuable information from doing this. When Clinton is asked about the relationship he simply tells everyone that he never did anything with Monica Lewinsky, but when he is asked about the relationship in front of the grand jury he says it was true. With Clinton previously lying about his relationship he got impeached. The House impeached Clinton on a vote of 258 to 176. Clinton violated 4 articles that he was impeached
She had placed all files in a box and took them to a room where Hilary Clinton would review. This is what he was told. Suspicions arose and the case
The impeachment proceedings resumed during the post-election “lame duck” session of the 105th Congress. On Dec. 19, the House impeached Clinton of lying under oath and obstruction charges. Two other counts failed, including one accusing Clinton of abuse of power. Five Democrats (Virgil Goode of Virginia, Ralph Hall of Texas, Paul McHale of Pennsylvania, Charles Stenholm of Texas and Gene Taylor of Mississippi) voted in favor of three of the four articles of impeachment, but only Taylor voted for

She tells the story of Tyler Clementi, an 18-year-old college student who was secretly filmed kissing another man. Overcome with shame, he committed suicide. While Clementi’s tragic story is a stunning narrative on its own, Lewinsky powerfully connects it with her own life. Her breath catches and she pauses. Emotional – choking up – she tells of how Clementi’s story resonated with her mother:

the president by majority vote for “Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors”. After going from the house, two-thirds of the Senate must approve this request within the presence of the chief justice of the Supreme Court. o There have only been two successful impeachments in the history of the United States. Andrew Johnson went against his own party in terms of policies regarding the Reconstruction era after the North won the Civil War.
The political climate was volatile, and there were fears of violence and unrest if Johnson was either acquitted or convicted. Ross and the other Senators involved in the trial had to be mindful of their own safety and the safety of others. Finally, Ross may have also faced fear of the unknown. The impeachment of a President was a relatively new and untested process, and there was uncertainty about how the trial would unfold and what the consequences would be.
On October 22nd Hillary Clinton was faced with tough questions once again regarding the tragic events that took place in Benghazi on September 11th, 2012. The hearing was generally Republicans lawmakers questioning Hillary Clinton. The hearing lasted from ten o’clock in the morning to nine at night. I think this committee was not created to oversite Benghazi. I believe that this committee was created to attack Clinton.
Primary sources are documents and artifacts that come directly from the past. For my primary source paper, I have selected to use the eleven Articles of Impeachment that were passed by Congress in 1868. This primary source is the main source that I use on my topic of President Andrew Johnson’s impeachment trials. The eleven Articles of Impeachment are historical documents that were written with an agenda for a specific purpose and audience. As historians, it is essential that we analyze how the source was constructed, by who, where and when, for what purpose(s), and for which audience.
Johnson was impeached in 1868, near the end of his term, for violating a congressional law. Nixon faced impeachment in 1974, in his second term, for his role in the Watergate scandal. Clinton was impeached in 1998, in his second term, for his affair with Monica Lewinsky.
In the world, there have been many scandals that have not yet been forgotten. In the history of the United states, there have occurred numerous incidents that relate the president on creating secret treaties or have lied to their people to protect the country. For instance, some of the most known scandals are the Watergate scandal and the Iran-Contra scandal, which have created a major impact on society and are always going to be remembered. As of today, nothing has changed and there are still scandals about the president and its administration. Some examples of recent scandals are the Trump-Russia Collusion Scandal and the GPS Fusion-FISA Court Scandal.

You don't choose your family; they are God's gift to you, as you are to them. My family is my strength and weakness, my wealth and privilege and the love of them and their admiration is much more important than everything. Without loyalty, the world wouldn’t be the same, people would backstab one another and people wouldn’t trust each other, as a result of the lack of loyalty between the people. From reading Antigone, I realized that loyalty was a very essential argument that came in many various forms; such as expressing loyalty to the family and to respect and honor the state or country.
