Recently, I served as Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs (AVPAA) at the University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB) in Odessa, Texas. My first major task in this role was to address recommendations by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) pertaining to the University’s 10-year reaffirmation report. To address the recommendations by SACSCOC, I developed a comprehensive strategic plan that allowed the University to resolve the issues of non-compliance before its final response report to SACSCOC in February of 2021. The systematic changes within my strategic plan led to 98% of General Education Faculty completing proper assessment work within their course(s). More importantly, the strategic plan solidified the University being reaffirmed by the SACSCOC Board of Trustees at their December 2021 convening, with no additional follow-up reporting required by the …show more content…
Recently, I was entrusted with leading the transition of all institutional personnel policies from the current South Texas College format to the new Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) format used by the College. This project is scheduled for timely completion in Spring 2023. Similarly, during my tenure as Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs at UTPB I served as the Handbook of Operating Procedures Co-Chair for the University. Part of my responsibility as Co-Chair was facilitating the review and approval of all institutional policies (i.e., Staff, Student, Faculty, Operations) to ensure compliance with University of Texas System regulations.
