Dear Admissions Committee, I am writing to appeal the decision to deny my admission to the University of Texas at Austin. I understand that my original application was for the Communications Studies major, but after much reflection and soul-searching, I have finally decided that pursuing a degree in Religious Studies is where my true passions lie. I grew up in Australia and spent my early years in a multicultural environment that exposed me to a diverse range of religious beliefs and practices. This upbringing instilled in me a deep curiosity about the world's religions, and I continued to pursue this interest throughout my academic career. I am eager to engage in rigorous academic study, to explore the complexities and nuances of various religious traditions, and to develop critical thinking skills that will serve me well throughout my life. I understand that my academic record may not have been strong enough to meet the standards for the Communications Studies program, but I believe that I have the academic potential to succeed in the Religious Studies program. My passion for this field of study, combined with my strong work ethic, will enable me to excel academically and contribute to the vibrant intellectual community at UT Austin. I am aware that spaces in the Religious Studies program may be limited, but I am willing to take any necessary steps to improve my academic standing and demonstrate my commitment to this field of study. I am also willing to consider other options, such as taking classes as a non-degree seeking/ undeclared student or participating in the highly praised PACE
