In the book The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the main character Nick, lived in West Egg, New York. He met this rich guy named Gatsby. From then on it was all about Gatsby trying to get Nick's cousin, Daisy's attention. In the book The Great Gatsby, Daisy was not the right woman for Gatsby.
One way that Daisy isn’t right for Gatsby was that she was never patient enough. Gatsby thought Daisy would wait for him after the war but she didn’t and married a different guy named Tom. Pg 152 “He came back from France when Tom and Daisy were still on their wedding trip” (Fitzgerald). After Gatsby came back from being deployed, he found out Daisy was never going to wait a long time for his love. She was very impatient and her brain was telling her what to do, not her heart. Another way was Daisy didn't take her time marrying Tom, she rushed the love. Pg 152 “Of course she might have loved him for just a minute, when they were first married—and loved me more even then, do you see?” (Fitzgerald). Daisy never looked back after marrying Tom, she went with her first thought even though it didn’t make her the happiest. …show more content…

Tom was always in the way of Gatsby and Daisy's relationship. Tom would bring himself to the parties with Daisy. Pg 101 “He was profoundly affected by the fact Tom was there” (Fitzgerald). Gatsby created all the parties on the weekend just for Daisy. When Daisy came over to the party, Gatsby saw Tom too and he couldn’t have done the things he wanted to do with her. Another reason why Daisy wasn’t the right person for Gatsby is because Daisy married Tom when Gatsby was distracted with the war. Pg 152 “He came back from France when Tom and Daisy were still on their wedding trip” (Fitzgerald). Being already married changed Gatsby's actions. He dedicated all his time for her while she was dedicating her time to her new husband
