Classification
Big nose. The Jews were in a category that distinguished them. It was easier to differentiate the difference between the Jews and Germans because they had the Aryan Race.
The Gypsies were classified as people who would never settle in. the would move from town to town and country to country and they didn’t really have a nationality.
People with disabilities and illnesses were classified as impure.
The Germans had an Aryan Race which was considered as the “master race” Symbolization
Symbolizing is the labelling of the classification. Yellow star of David. Badges were given to the Jews. Aryan Race (blonde hair and blue eyes) were considered as the perfect race.
The Nazi would symbolize the Gypsies

Dehumanization Is a process by which a specific group is marked as sub-human. They are treated like animals or diseases. The discrimination towards dues lead to dehumanisation.
The Nazi’s did experiments on the Jews to create the perfect race.
The Jews were named as the inferior race by the Nazi government. Human rights were abolished and Nuremberg laws were instead used. Basically the Nuremberg Laws excluded Jews from Marrying Christians, no movement of Jews in the country and Jewish shops would be snubbed.
Organization Genocide is an planned/organised event. It requires both communal action and group identification. The Germans planned and organised to segregate the Jews to a camp to kill all of them.
Polarization 1. Groups are further driven apart by the extremists(a person who holds extreme political or religious views, especially one who advocates illegal, violent, or other extreme action.) When the Germans separated themselves from the Jews. The Jews would live alone on the other side of Germany.

Death lists were created or people were segregated into the camps. Death camps were created.

Persecution Persistent harassment towards others because of race, religious beliefs or anything political.
Extermination This stage is genocide. The mass killing of people. During the holocaust, five to six million Jews were killed.
The genocide implemented against the Jews was the Nazi’s ‘final solution’ for the Jewish problem. The Jews were shot and buried into mass graves. Due to the many deaths involved are new solution was made which was to take the Jews to Death Camps. These death camps were under the control of SS under Heinrich Himmler. Examples of these camps would be Auschwitz and Dachau.
Denial In the final stage, the perpetrators attempted to cover up their violations or refer to reports of genocide as exaggerated. They burnt and buried the bodies. They denied the fact that they have murdered many innocent people.
The other citizens of Germany claimed that they had nothing to do with the Genocide that took place.
Today the German government still claims that it was only certain people from the Nazi
