California’s direct democracy brings a lot of positives and shows a great example of how a government that is supposed to represent the people should be handled. For one, direct democracy increases political involvement, because people feel like they’re being heard and are making a difference. They’re much more inclined to be more involved with what’s going on with our country and participating in elections which means more votes. Another great thing about direct democracy is that it reduces corruption within the government. Usually, politicians will campaign and makes promises to people so they could get more voters, but once the politicians get the votes and win the election they end up not keeping their promises and doing the opposite of
