For example in the play Romeo and Juliet almost every character possessed certain flaws that lead to disastrous outcomes. One of the most common flaws that readers can see in the play is disobedience towards recognized authorities. This is manifested through characters like; Romeo, Juliet, and Tybalt whose hatred, revenge and love towards one another resulted in paying the price for their mistakes. Juliet shows disobedience in Act 3 Scene 3 when Lady Capulet, Juliet’s mom, comes to tell her about her “deep desire to see “the villain Romeo” dead”. Upon hearing this, Juliet makes her mother believe that she also wants Romeo dead since he killed her beloved cousin. In reality, however, she is in love with Romeo. That is when Lady Capulet tells Juliet about Lord Capulet, Juliet’s father’s plan about her marriage with Paris on Thursday. She was expecting Juliet to be happy when she heard about this. In the least, she would not have to grieve over her cousin’s death and enjoy planning her wedding. Juliet's response to this is different as she rejects this proposal saying “I will not marry yet; and when I do, I swear It shall be Romeo whom you know I hate Rather than Paris”. So when Lord Capulet enters and learns that Juliet has gone against his and her mother’s will about the proposal, he decides to disown her.
