Are you having trouble following along the lesson the teacher presented in class today? If so don't worry, you could potentially still become and effective academic learner.The topic I choose to speak on is very relevant to current day, Most people hear the term effective academic learner and automatically assume that means in classroom work & ya ability to be able to ace test. That is a great portion of what it actually means to be an effective academic learner but there are many more aspects in which a student must seek to properly prosper. I Surrounded myself with people that did not want the best for my future. The people i decided to hang out with wasn’t going to class, or maybe they wasn’t studying the night before a big test. I say that to say being an effective academic learner can start with the company you keep & your ability to break bad habits. I had to start thinking for myself step out the bad environment that i grew attached to over time. In a time of my life where I could benefit from redirection, motivation and support, I was given a mentor who served as a positive role model. My mentor helped me to see the importance of my future, and motivated me to push myself to make better choices and prepare for the future. I have seen major success because of my connection to positive role model and I would like to impart those same supports to the younger generations.
Now i don't want you to think it is not acceptable to be verbal and socialize because that's totally not the case. In fact that is another way to possibly be most effective as a learner. Being comfortable in your working environment or school setting don't always come from talking about sports or trying to see who wanna hang out after school.
