Alejandra Gomez Campaign Conclusion In every presidential campaign, candidates and their PR team work hard to grab the attention of their audience. As of today, Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump all used similar techniques to appeal to the people. Using the different elements; Ethos, Pathos and Logos the people were able to decide which side they want to support. Using Ethos, Pathos and Logos helped my team and I create an interesting yet informative campaign.
Introduction Persuasion is an art; and mastering this art requires the manipulation of the rhetorical triangles: ethos, pathos, and logos. “Ethos” deals with the credibility of the author; “pathos” refers to the emotional appeal of the text; and “logos” is the logics behind the argument; and these three fundamental appeals are the basis of persuasion. The rhetorical methods used in the two visuals, "How to Gain or Lose 30 minutes of Life Everyday" and "People Kill with Guns More Than Any Other Weapon," both by Mark Fischetti will be analyzed, compared and contrasted in reference to the broader contexts of each source. The four texts here all introductions to rhetoric. I found most of the text to be very effective in contributing to rhetorical learning. It uses all the right ways to appeal to ethos, logos, and pathos. The examples show how the speech is written and what kind of reaction it wants. It is building and appealing to those rhetorical devices.

How can an author get the reader attention? Readers don’t like to read boring books, articles or essay. There are many strategy an author can use such as an ethos, pathos, and logos. The author can either use an emotional appeal, which is pathos, the usage of statistic and facts makes it logos, when an author builds up their character they are using ethos. When analyzing I asked myself what are these concepts used for and how can one recognize these strategies when reading?
In my classical argumentation essay, I used several rhetorical strategies in order to make my essay more appealing and convincing towards my readers. In my essay, I used rhetorical appeals (ethos, logos, and pathos). I used logos by providing statistics on the amount of children that are not in school and the amount of children that are employed in places like India, Nigeria and Brazil. I then used pathos by providing facts on how children are placed in hazardous environments and their lack of education. I used ethos by providing the authors of the sources that I used, who are experts in their respective fields.
Imagine having an opportunity to further your education and build a better future for your family and yourself. Hunger Games: Rhetorical Appeal Addition Rhetoric can make or break a movie's revenue based on the effectiveness of the trailer released to the audience. Movie trailers are the main way for those releasing a new movie to be able to catch the audience's attention. Liongates released the movie The Hunger Games in November of 2012. This movie had actors such as Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth, who were depicted in the movie's trailer.
Logos that paved the way for branding Understanding the process that we know as branding is not an easy task. For many of us is hard to explain what is the main meaning of this expression. But, that is not strange because here we speak about hard and a very long way from starting a business until climbing to the top. Ethos is based off speaker credibility. Cicero’s categorized communication into five arts of public speaking. The first, is invention where an author chooses a topic. Second, Arrangement which presents ideas. Third, Style which is the language in a speech.
Pathos prevailed more in my speech than ethos. I used pathos as my main reasoning and my agenda was to appeal to their emotions. I purposefully put in stories that made the audience want to cry and I established the emotion in my voice as well. It seemed only fitting to bring down the audience’s emotions considering the topic. Logos also played a role in persuading the audience.
Going out of your comfort zone can be a terrifying thought for many; however, what if going out of your comfort zone involved divine intervention? A prophet that I’m insinuating here is Moses who has shown on countless occasions has many reservations on becoming a prophet. This idea is highlighted in the story of mana as recounted in the Old Testament. The story of mana is an intriguing tale that highlights the complexities of human nature, faith, and divine provision. Through various rhetorical strategies like pathos, logos, and ethos God and Moses are able to mold their extremely malleable relationship while “solving” the qualms of the Israelities.

The key to effective communication is acknowledging the difference in arguing and fighting. The main goal in arguing is to “persuade your audience. You win a fight when you dominate the enemy”(16). While communicating the disagreement will never be solved if one person is always dominating and winning every argument. However, when persuading your audience, you get people to do what you want them to and the main goal is to hopefully come to a compromise or agreement.
The Power of Speech Communication is a compelling tool that allows the audience to experience what the speaker is connecting to while being intrigued to make a change. Therefore, public speakers use communication as a technique to engage the audience into focusing on the message itself. The author, Julian Treasure, utilizes the effectiveness of rhetorical devices while stating his position in his “How to speak so that people want to listen” speech. Julian Treasure effectively executed the usage of ethos in his speech, which was previously built from the foundation he created for himself.
