The motif of Love versus Hate in the Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is developed by figurative language and metaphors to displays how Romeo and Juliet fall in love in first sight. The play focuses on romantic love, specifically the intense passion that springs up at first sight between Romeo and Juliet. William Shakespeare wrote the well -known romantic play called Romeo and Juliet about the forbidden love between two lovers from different warring families. Shakespeare use metaphor and dramatic effects in the play. In the beginning of the play, the motif of love versus hate is displays by figurative language and metaphors. When they stop dancing Romeo and Juliet goes off and finds each other at the party. They found each other and they found love in first sight and kiss. When the nurse from the Capulet calls Juliet and Romeo realizes she was a Capulet and Juliet found out Romeo was a Montague and still love each other until it got so deep till they wanted to get married. Juliet says to herself “ O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name, or it though will not, be love and I’ll no longer be a Capulet. Juliet states those words to tell him that if he gives up his name, she will refuse to begin a Capulet just to be with him because she loves him, which tell us that there will be drama in the play. In Act 2, Romeo asks the Friar to marry him to Juliet. The Friar is amaze and agrees to marry them to ease the feud between the two
