In The Odyssey, Greek culture is evident as Odysseus shows his confidence, smart, and cleverness on his journey. Throughout his whole journey he goes to 15 stops and he has a lot of strengths and weaknesses shown throughout the Odyssey.
His first strength that he had is his confidence. He is super confident in what he does. In the odyssey part two Odysseus returns home. His loyal wife, Penelope doesn’t know if it's him because of all the suitors that have been trying to get with her so she holds a bow and arrow, shooting costing and whoever wins gets her love . He shows off his shooting skills and hits the target perfectly.”But the man is skilled in all ways of contending, satisfied by the great bows, look and heft, like a musician, like a Harper…” ( Homer, 1370-1375) that quote shows his confidence and that he knows no matter what he will hit the target. In the Odyssey when they stab the cyclops in the eye they didn't stab him so he would die because he knew that if he didnt that they wouldn't be able to get out of the cave since the cyclops put a big boulder over the hole but he doesn't… know how to get out but he tells his men it hide under the sheep and escape with them who’s when hes feeling for the people he feels the sheep and lets them go. “… the way they make soft iron hale and hard: just so the eyeball hissed around the spike. The cyclops bellowed and the rock roared round him” (Homer 333-346). This quote describes how Odysseus’s plan was very smart to help him and his men get out. They even made sure he was super asleep and gave him a lot of food so he would be tired. After that they started playing music to make sure he stays asleep while they sharpened the spear. This plan was very well thought out and worked really
