There are Many Heroes In the book Outsiders for example Ponyboy,Darry, and Johnny. A Hero is someone that thinks about others, is nice, kind and cares for everyone. Today we have many heroes around us being a hero doesn't mean you have superpowers and can fly. You can be a hero just for standing up for a classmate. In the book Outsiders it shows that a normal person can be a hero in many ways.

Ponboy is one of the first heroes we see in the book outsiders. Based on my definition of a hero Ponyboy is someone who thinks about other people and does not just think of himself. One example of him not thinking of himself is when he says. “I’ve stayed by my lonesome before, you can’t afford the day off “. Pg.94 This is Pony thinking of Darry. He does not want Darry to stay home with him because Darry could not afford the day off. Another example of Pony being a hero is when he wants to save the children from the burning building. “I’ll get them don't worry. I started at a dead run for the church and the man caught my arm you kids stay out.”Pg.78 In both examples we see Ponyboy putting other people in front of himself making him a hero. …show more content…

He is a hero because Darry thinks of other people, especially his two brothers Sodapop and Ponyboy. One example of Darry being a good brother to Soda is when he says. “I ironed, There in my closet Darry said Hurry up you're going to be late.” This shows that Darry takes care of his brothers and always reminds them to be better. Another example of Darry being a good brother is when Darry says. “I hate to leave you here all by yourself Ponyboy Darry said slowly Maybe I outa take the day off” This shows Darry’s love to Ponyboy because even if Darry can’t afford it he wants to stay home and take care of his brother.
