What is a hero? A hero is someone who stands up in there rights and beliefs for good.Three heros are Miep Gies,Harriet Tubman,and Jackie Robinson. In the article,Woman who helped anne frank dies at 100 Written by Teri Schultz, National Public Radio in 2010 is a story about a woman named Miep Gies she acted heroically because she helped anne frank and her family hide from the holocaust. She doesn't care that theres a chance of her getting caught she does the right thing and helps. Adding on, THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD a story written by USHistory.org in 2016 is about a woman ,Harriet Tubman who because of her so many slaves were freed.When slavery was happening she helped the people get away from slavery. In the text it states,’’Yet, she risked her life many times over to help the Frank family during the two years they hid from the Nazis in a secret annex.’’This shows what type of person Gies is she exposed her life to help her.Another example is ,’’I simply had no choice. I could foresee many, many sleepless nights and a life filled with regret if I would have refused to help the Franks.’’She wanted to be there or she wouldn’t feel okay with herself .Lastly,’’Gies was not intimidated.
