What are synonyms for a hero? Words that come to mind are brave, fighter, strong, stubborn, and compassionate. A hero can be defined in many ways, but in reference to the book Fearless, Adam’s supporters are the true heroes. Adam’s wife, Kelley, and his parents, Janice and Larry, had all the qualities of what it takes to be a true hero. Kelley was definitely Adam’s saving grace and he knew that. She was a complete stranger to Adam at first and did not get scared off when he began to talk to her about his addiction to crack. She was stubborn enough to not give up on Adam even when everyone around her, including Adam’s family, was telling her different. According to Eric Blehm, Janice called the Garland County Sheriff’s Department and advised a deputy of the active warrant for Adam’s arrest, refusing to hang up until the officer agreed to send a car to his current location. It took Janice being very stubborn to call the police on her own son to have him arrested. She knew though, deep down inside, that it was what was best for him and that it was the only thing that would keep him safe.
