In the Crucible by Arthur Miller, mass hysteria is evident throughout the story. The false accusations caused people to panic and become paranoid. In today's world an example of mass hysteria would be the ISIS problem. This is similar to the Crucible due to the mass hysteria occurring and people accusing each other without evidence of their accusation. In today's world, the terrorist group ISIS is guessed to be located around Syria. This has started stereotypes and false statements offending people from Syria. Muslims are the main targets to these specific stereotypes of them being terrorists.
