Romeo and Juliet: Greatest Love Story or Infatuation
The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is known as the greatest love story ever written. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is about two families that are in a constant fight. The children of the families then fall in love. Love is the feeling of having lots of care for someone. An example is a mother taking care of their child when the child is sick. Infatuation is obsessing over something/someone. Based on the actions of Romeo and Juliet throughout the story, this story is infatuation.
Romeo and Juliet's relationship shows infatuation when Romeo says he loves Juliet right after meeting her. Do not forget that he loved Rosaline up to seeing Juliet. This quote comes from the night of the party before he goes to Juliet's house. ¨Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night.¨ Act 1, Scene 5, Lines 44-45 by Romeo. In modern day terms this means, ¨Did my heart ever love anyone before this moment? My eyes were liars, then, because I never saw true beauty before tonight.¨
