Justice and Injustice In Frankenstein The Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelly, a novel where justice can not be found. Many characters in the book Justine, Henry, Elizabeth, and the creature have been dealt a great injustice at the hands of one person, Victor Frankenstein. Victor Frankenstein puts his happiness above everyone and presents selfish behavior that creates injustice for others around him. While at the same time the creature is longing for love and acceptance. Victor Frankenstein went to university to further his education in the science of natural philosophy but he did not know at that point all he was capable of. He found a curiosity in life and death. Victor ran from the monster never to look back but little did he know the monster had thoughts and feelings of his own. The monster “grew up” on his own and felt abandoned by his creator. He was in misery and felt worthless like no one or no human would ever love him because of the way he looked. "Cursed, cursed creator! Why did I live?” (16.1). Victor spent months working on his creation just to leave him, left, and never looked back. Victor selfishly wanted to forget the dreadful decision he had made. He was the monster's creator, his father, and felt no obligation to see how the creature was doing. Instead, Victor leaves the creature to grow up and suffer in a cruel world, alone.
