Frankenstein’s Victims Many characters in the novel, Frankenstein, faced a major injustice in their lives. Justine, Elizabeth, and Henry are all innocent characters who loved Victor and were loved by him, but faced injustice, which is getting killed by the monster directly or indirectly. These characters appear throughout Victor’s life, and all followed Victor’s law. According to victor, if a person looks good on the outside, then they will most definitely be good on the inside. This is probably a major reason as to why victor abandoned the monster after he came to life in first place. “I had desired it with an ardour that far exceeded moderation; but now that I had finished, the beauty of the dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust filled my heart” (Shelley 49), because of how bad the monster looked, victor didn’t give him a chance. Justine’s characteristics follow Victor’s law, which is why Victor loved her. Justine is a very innocent human who didn’t deserve to be executed because of a crime she didn’t commit, she says “‘I did confess, but I confessed a lie. I confessed … my confessor has besieged me; he threatened and menaced, until I almost began to think that I was the monster that he said I was’” (Shelley 81). The strong persuasion of the confessor made an innocent mind like hers confess to killing William, another character who was killed by the monster. Therefore she was indirectly killed by the
