Injustice in the Court System By most people in today’s society the general court systems in America are seen as unfair and problematic. As known by most there are consequences to one's actions but sometimes the people of the court take it further than it needs to be taken. They do not realize or understand how it affects and changes a person's whole life. So how is the justice system unfair? The three main factors that determine injustice one will face are race, wealth, and beliefs. Race being the color of your skin or your upbringing, wealth being how much money or “power” your name holds, and beliefs being what you believe in and who you are. Although today's world is considered “equal” it really is not. In today's society skin color can still determine how you are treated, especially in the court of law. Shasta Inman wrote an article about the Racial Disparities in Criminal Justice. Among many things discussed in the article Inman provides that, “African Americans are incarcerated in state prisons at five times the rate of whites. Black men face disproportionately harsh incarceration experiences as compared with prisoners of other races.(Inman).
