This quote is ironic because throughout this book we see Hitler constantly hurting the Jews. When Elie says that he has more faith in HItler than in anyone else it is ironic because Hitler is the one that started the Holocaust. He decided to invade and hurt the Jews. Hitler is the reason why he was separated from his mother and sisters. When they first arrived at the camp the woman and men were separated.
In this work, Night by Elie Wiesel, the author expresses that restricting basic needs and one’s individuality, leads way to dehumanization, in which deconstructs a culture. As Elie’s struggle slowly comes to an end, he analyzes his experience living in concentration camps and the loss of his character, which is emphasized toward the end of the memoir. While beginning to adjust to the environment and the camp itself, Elie is approached by a hostile gentleman wanting to have his gold crown because of its value. This instance is shown when it says, “If you don't give me your crown, it will cost you much more!"(Wiesel 55). Due to the fact that the camps had given the prisoners, small rations of food, and stripped them of their valuable items, the crown's value had increased.

In the novel Night the protagonist, Elie Wiesel, narrates his experiences as a young Jewish boy surviving the Holocaust. Elie 's autobiographical memoir informs the reader about how the Nazis captured the Jews and enslaved them in concentration camps, where they experienced the absolute worst forms of torture, abuse and inhumane treatment. Compassion is an extremely powerful emotion. It’s when you help someone get through an awful time in their life. Usually if it’s someone or something you, love you can show compassion towards it, You’ll end up putting an extreme amount of love and compassion into something you care about. If your loved one is going through an event you’ve gone through, you can empathize with them and connect. Showing love and compassion can let other people know what kind of person you are.
Night by Elie Wiesel shows when humans are put in horrible situations, the acts of selfishness greatly increase. The book shows that when humans are in crisis like the Holocaust everyone is desperate to survive, so they will do anything they can to get their basic needs. The people forgot who they are as human, and how it made Elie and others act differently towards each other. Elie Wiesel, and everyone who he meets along the way want to survive this, at times they forget why they want to live. But no one wants to get defeated by the Germans.
The Modern Day Holocaust Society needs to realize that indifference is a major problem in the world. One reason indifference needs to be reduced is that studies show that it can cause depression or lack of motivation There is people who do not care about the homeless four year old boy sitting on the side of the street weighing less than 30 pounds. Indifference is causing major problems around the world. Many people are being killed, starved or shunned upon by others because someone is not as good as them.
In which millions of Jews were innocently killed and persecuted because of their religion. As a student who is familiar with the years of the holocaust that will forever live in infamy, Wiesel’s memoir has undoubtedly changed my perspective. Throughout the text, I have been emotionally touched by the topics of dehumanization, the young life of Elie Wiesel, and gained a better understanding of the Holocaust. With how dehumanization was portrayed through words, pondering my mind the most.
Hope is a helpful tool to push people through the hardest times in life. In the book Night by Elie Wiesel, there are numerous examples of hope helping people and revitalizing their confidence. People used hope to help them through rough times. People hope that friends and family are still alive. Also hope that the Front liberates the camps and frees everyone.
