The story, The Great Gatsby, had multiple moments when love was bought throughout the story. One of the examples is the amount of money Gatsby has and using them money to look the best for Daisy. Another example is Tom and how he buys Myrtle anything she wanted. The story is filled with moments of love being bought.

The first example of love being bought is Gatsby making sure he looks good for Daisy. "'I want the grass cut,' he said... I suspected he meant my grass" (Fitzgerald 87). Gatsby wants Nick's lawn to look good when Daisy comes over because, if Gatsby was going to meet Daisy at Nick's house he wants Nick's house to look perfect. When Gatsby brought Daisy and Nick to his house he made sure that everything was perfect at his house.
